Babcock BuildingWhat is the purpose of the Craftsbury Historical Society (CHS)?
The purpose is to bring together people interested in the history of Craftsbury and the surrounding area.  Understanding our history promotes an appreciation of our rich heritage.

What does the CHS do?

The Society's major functions are to locate, collect and preserve local and regional artifacts.  The Society shares historical information, as well as materials, with the public in various ways.  Accessibility has become a reality with the opening of the Babcock House Museum.  We now have a fine meeting room, exhibits, office/kitchenette, rest room and spacious storage in the basement, and the building is ADA accessible.

Since 2004, We are very please to welcome our neighbors from Craftsbury and surrounding towns, as well as visitors from all over north America and abroad.

Who are the Craftsbury Historical Society's Summer Hours?

Starting June 2, 2007, the Museum will be open through the Fall foliage Season on Wednesdays from 10 AM- Noon and Saturdays 1-3 PM.

Who are the 2006/2007 officers?

Officers for 2006 and 2007 year are Anne Wilson (President), Joan Simmons (Vice President), Robert Twiss (Secretary), Robert Goodby (Treasurer), Roberta Alexander, Jack Cabaness, Everett Demeritt, Sarah Dopp & Bruce Shields.  Trustee ex officio is David Link.

How do I become a member? 

We welcome everyone.  Contact one of the officers above or anyone you know who is already a member.  Dues are: Individual membership $10; family membership $15; life membership $150.  Please join us.
