What is the purpose of the Craftsbury Historical Society (CHS)?
The purpose is to bring together people interested in the history of Craftsbury and the surrounding area. Understanding our history promotes an appreciation of our rich heritage.
What does the CHS do?
The Society's major functions are to locate, collect and preserve local and regional artifacts. The Society shares historical information, as well as materials, with the public in various ways. Accessibility has become a reality with the opening of the Babcock House Museum. We now have a fine meeting room, exhibits, office/kitchenette, rest room and spacious storage in the basement, and the building is ADA accessible. Since 2004, we are very pleased to welcome our neighbors from Craftsbury and surrounding towns, as well as visitors from all over North America and abroad.
- Babcock House Museum will open for the season starting June
- Museum hours are 10am to 12 noon on Wednesdays and Saturdays until mid-October.
- Other times by appointment.
