Oktoberfest in Craftsbury is always a great way to kick off the fall season with an assortment of fun events and the always popular Harvest Dinner (previously known as Oktoberfest dinner).
On the afternoon of Saturday the 7th, we're excited to announce our first Community Open House. Community members are invited to come up to the Center starting at 1 pm. We'll be providing free clinics in biathlon, as well as mini mountain bike clinics with free rentals, and cheese and cider tastings. Also during the open house, the Craftsbury Nordic Ski Club (our junior ski program) will be hosting a silent auction to benefit the Kathy Wright Memorial Scholarship Fund.
On Saturday afternoon, at the same time as the Open House, the Center will host the Craftsbury Checkpoint Challenge. Unlike in previous years, this year the challenge will not be timed as a race. Instead, teams can visit each individual station and compete to have the fastest time for each challenge. Stations will test both the brainpower and brawn of each team, as well as their ability to work together. The challenges are not disclosed ahead of time, so competitors should be prepared for anything!
Following the Open House and the Checkpoint Challenge, Saturday night will bring the autumn-themed Harvest Dinner. The Craftsbury Dining Hall, known for cooking up delicious fare, will pull out all the stops with local food featuring the best of the season.
