The Selectboard met at the Craftsbury Town Hall on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at

7:30 PM. Selectboard present was Bruce Urie, Susan Houston and Jim Jones. Michelle Warren (Clerk of Selectboard) was also present.

Jim made a motion to approve the November 13, 2007 Selectboard Minutes.

Bruce sent a letter to Shirley Connoni November 21, 2007 on behalf of the Selectboard stating that 2 of her dogs had been aggressive to a neighbor. The Selectboard’s letter requested a copy of the vaccinations and registrations for the dogs presented to the Town Clerk’s Office as soon as possible. Bruce also reminded her that the Selectboard earlier issued an order requiring the dogs be in a kennel or on a leash when away from home and that they will remove the dogs if some one is bitten or hurt.

The Selectboard received a letter from Gloria Menard, a rural route carrier, dated November 21, 2007 with 2 concerns. Since Ketchum Hill Road has been excavated with large drop off edges, she feels it’s narrowed so that it’s unlikely that 2 cars can pass safely. She also mentioned that a guardrail has been missing since last year on Morey Hill Road and is a safety hazard. The Selectboard discussed the letter and will talk to Steve Marckres about it.

The Selectboard decided that this year new appropriations will be stand alone but that they will have a petition on Town Meeting Day for the townspeople to decide how to handle appropriations in the future.

Although Steve was absent, Bruce mentioned that the Town Crew has been brush cutting.

Yvette was absent. The Board of Abatement hearing has been postponed.

The Selectboard decided to work on the budget at the next Selectboard Meeting instead, after Yvette & Steve work on it first.

• Salt Shed Hoops:
  Bruce put the ads out for the Salt Shed Hoops, asking for $1000 or best offer.

• Sanding for Sweeney House Trailer:
  A new house/trailer is being moved in Collinsville and the Sweeney’s are concerned about moving it safely without sliding. A message was left for Steve Marckres to make sure there’s plenty of sand on the road.

• Lawsuit Appeal:
  Bruce mentioned that the decision had been made in favor of the town of Craftsbury for Young Bridge. As far as the Selectboard know, an appeal hasn’t yet been filed.

• Dry Hydrant:
  Bruce mentioned that the new Fire Department’s dry hydrant near Arthur Menard’s is all set.

• LRSWMD:
  Bruce read a letter from LRSWMD that the district has collected/disposed of 5,105 tons of mixed waste/construction debris and collected 748 tons of recycling.

The Selectboard Meeting adjourned at 9 PM. Next meeting is scheduled Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at 7:30 PM at Craftsbury Town Hall.
